Supporting Seniors with Care, Compassion, and Dignity
Escada, Pernambuco, Brazil
Caring for Those Who Once Cared for Others
At Generous Hearts, we believe that every individual deserves to live with dignity, compassion, and respect, regardless of age or financial circumstances.
For elderly individuals who depend on residential care, access to nutritious food, essential medications, and everyday personal care supplies is fundamental to their health, comfort, and well-being.
Through our partnership with Abrigo Santa Filonila, Generous Hearts helps provide financial support for these essential needs, contributing to the care and quality of life of seniors living at the facility.
About Abrigo Santa Filonila
Founded on October 3, 1983, Abrigo Santa Filonila is a non-profit residential care facility for elderly individuals located in Escada, Pernambuco, northeastern Brazil.
The facility is managed by the Camillian Sisters, a Catholic religious community dedicated to caring for individuals in need.
For more than four decades, Abrigo Santa Filonila has served its community by providing a residential environment where elderly individuals can receive ongoing care, assistance, and support.
Its work reflects a commitment to compassion, human dignity, and the importance of caring for vulnerable members of society.
More Than a Place to Live
For seniors who require ongoing assistance, a residential care facility is much more than accommodation. It is their home.
Daily access to proper nutrition, medications, hygiene products, and other essential supplies contributes directly to their health, comfort, and quality of life.
For non-profit organizations serving vulnerable populations, maintaining a consistent supply of these necessities requires ongoing financial resources and community support.
Abrigo Santa Filonila relies on the dedication of its caregivers and the generosity of supporters to help meet these needs.
Our Commitment – Supporting Essential Daily Care
Generous Hearts provides R$1,000 per month to Abrigo Santa Filonila to help cover the costs of:
-
Food and Nutrition: Supporting the purchase of food and essential dietary supplies for residents.
-
Medications: Helping fund medications required for residents' ongoing care.
-
Personal Care and Consumable Supplies: Contributing to hygiene products and other everyday materials needed to maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment.
Our Financial Commitment
Monthly contribution: R$1,000
Annual contribution: R$12,000
All amounts are in Brazilian reais (BRL). This represents Generous Hearts' ongoing financial contribution toward essential supplies and care.
For Canadian donors, this demonstrates how a relatively modest recurring contribution can help provide essential resources to a community-based senior care facility.
Why This Partnership Matters
For elderly individuals living in residential care, maintaining a good quality of life depends on consistent access to essential services and supplies.
For residents, our support helps provide everyday necessities that contribute to their health, comfort, and dignity.
For caregivers, access to food, medications, and essential supplies helps them focus on providing compassionate daily care.
For the organization, ongoing financial contributions help reduce the burden of meeting recurring operational needs.
While these contributions may seem modest, their importance is significant. They help address practical needs that must be met every day.
Because caring for vulnerable seniors is not simply about providing shelter. It is about helping ensure they can live with dignity, comfort, and compassion.
Help Us Continue Making a Difference
